  1. StarField is much more than a space game. It is a action RPG first and a space game second.

  3. I assume that Star Citizen didn't feature as it's not yet released, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it, @ObsidianAnt.

  5. Mean while Star Citizen over here blowing all of these out of the water and then some.

  7. In the category "close to realistic" spacegames, Elite Odyssey (EDO) has virtually no competition at all
EDO is a massive sandbox game with an entire 1:1 fullscale realistic Milkyway galaxy where players do have complete freedom to move around
Milkyway galaxy stats in EDO as well as in reality:
    100.000 ly diameter
4*10^11 starsystems, with planets, moons, ringsystems etc.
Orbital mechanics, simulation of gravity of celestial bodies etc.
It's a sandbox game, so we aren't bound to any storyline
    >20.000 populated starsystems with approx 275.000 stations, in human populated region "the bubble", a little spec in our galaxy, just 1000 ly across

I can imagine that many with some knowledge about astrophysics and spacetravel as it could be in a distant future, initially inspired by Star Trek series back in the days, would value a realistic spacesim with a good simulation of our own galaxy (the milkyway), including orbital mechanics according to the Newtonian law of gravitation
    EDO is the only option
Some planets/ moons even tidal locked to their star/ planet as in reality
In EDO you would recognize stars from our visible night sky (Stellarium link), as well as known stars from the ESA mission's Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues are included

Elite Dangerous contains a vast 1:1 scale simulation of the Milky Way galaxy based on real scientific principles

  8. In terms of December releases, the only thing that comes to mind is the upcoming combat update for Dyson Sphere Program which I'm cautiously optimistic about. Is that a game you've reviewed before?

  9. You should've checked out star citizen while it isn't NEW they have had allot of new updates to the game recently and have had some ground breaking progress 🙂

  10. I really need to try out NMS, with all of the changes to it, it looks incredible. Everspace 2 is very promising, like wow.

  11. I'm a big fan of Spacebourne 2. It's really good. It's endearingly janky.

  12. I just deleted Everspace 2 to make room for something else on the drive. I can not say it is good or bad. It was pretty but felt too arcade ish for me. Guess I will give Starfield a miss and I havnt played spacebourn 2 in forever. It too was good. Very few titles are grabbing my attention though. Havnt done ED in forever but I love the mining and exploration and combat in the belts but ignore most other things in the game. Thanks for the video.

  13. I mean, I feel Star Citizen is worthy of a mention, you are talking about / listing others in early access. Not to say it necessarily should win (most potential, maybe, but not current best due to so much incomplete / missing content.)

  14. I need to jump back into Everspace 2. I was hugely enjoying it but put it on hold due to Starfield's release. However, after sinking about ~250 hours into Starfield, mostly out of a sunk cost fallacy, it disappointed me so much that it managed to turn me off of the genre temporarily, and I've instead been playing through Baldurs Gate 3, which has me absolutely hooked even despite normally hating turn based RPGs.

  15. Whist I`ve played all the games mentioned in this video and enjoyed some of them, X4 Foundation with his latest expansion remains the best single player space game experience in my opinion.

  16. OHHHHH, by the way, Starfield actually did well. Sold well. There's probably going to be a Starfield 2.

  17. Everspace 2 is The Best Space Game of 2023 PER|0D.

  18. How are you gonna call Elite Dangerous a 2023 game!?!???

  19. These games are all kind of underwhelming. What I wish for is a game like NMS except with realistic graphics, indepth RPG elements, and better combat.
