Freelancer – Playing Old School Space Games 1-1

Mike Dolan
This is the first of hopefully many video of playthroughs of some classic space games in my collection. The next few episodes will be playing the old school space game Freelancer. Freelancer is a space trading and combat simulation video game developed by Digital Anvil and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It was mostly created by the famous Chris Roberts of Star Citizen and Wing Commander fame. He did not get to see the product to completion but the game is still a classic hit for many. The game was release in 2003.

I hope to use these videos to glean some idea on where to take my game development tutorials for the Unreal Engine. Let me know if you see anything we should try to program in the comments.

Hoping to stream some games regularly. This was supposed to be a live stream – hence the annoying chat box. Unfortunately the stream didn’t work for some reason… I will remove that chat box in the next video.

  1. Great Setup, so many videos get the sound or the aspect ratio wrong. Thanks for uploading this classic gameplay experience 🙂
